1,000+ Machakos Youth Service Graduates to Join TVET Colleges.

Over 1,000 youths from Machakos County celebrated their graduation from the Machakos Youth Service program today, marking a pivotal achievement in their journey towards self-reliance and skill development.

The event highlighted the county’s dedication to equipping young people with essential skills, as Governor Wavinya Ndeti announced plans for the graduates to join various Vocational Training Colleges (VTCs) at no cost, funded by the county government.

Governor Ndeti noted that the graduates had undergone three weeks of rigorous training, including life-saving techniques and emergency response skills, particularly for fire-related incidents at home and workplaces. She encouraged the youth to apply these skills to safeguard themselves and their communities.

She stressed the importance of acting promptly and effectively during emergencies, underscoring the need for the values learned during their training to guide them in their future endeavors.

The graduates will enroll in institutions such as Kituluni, Kyemutheke, Matuu, Mitaboni, and Masii VTCs. These colleges will provide specialized training in various fields, fully funded by the county.

The program, supported by the National Government and the National Youth Service, reflects a strong partnership aimed at empowering the youth. Governor Ndeti expressed her appreciation for this collaboration, which ensured the success of the initiative.
