Role Summary
Our client, an NGO operating a secondary school in Narok County, is seeking to recruit a Geography and Kiswahili Teacher to join their team. The teacher will be pivotal in nurturing a passion for learning and ensuring students gain a strong understanding of both Kiswahili and Geography. The role involves creating dynamic and engaging educational experiences tailored to diverse learning needs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Facilitation: Utilize current methodologies to teach Kiswahili and Geography, paying close attention to individual learner differences.
- Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and objectives.
- Innovative Teaching: Employ creative methods to simplify complex concepts, making them accessible to students.
- Classroom Engagement: Lead interactive discussions, foster critical thinking, and promote problem-solving skills.
- Student Support: Offer individualized guidance to students, addressing their academic needs and challenges.
- Teaching Tools: Incorporate various teaching tools and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Assessment: Design and administer assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Classroom Environment: Maintain a positive, inclusive environment that encourages collaboration and respect.
- Curriculum Development: Work with colleagues to refine the curriculum, ensuring it remains effective and relevant.
- Professional Development: Stay informed on educational trends and participate in opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- Mentorship: Guide students toward self-reliance and uphold positive cultural values.
- Experiential Learning: Organize and coordinate learning activities outside the classroom, in liaison with the Academics master.
- Examinations: Set, supervise, mark, and review subject exams, and set termly targets with students.
- Instructional Planning: Vary classroom activities to ensure proper use of differentiated instruction and 21st-century methodologies.
- Scheme Preparation: Prepare schemes of work according to the Ministry of Education’s requirements.
- Adherence to Code of Conduct: Follow the TSC and organizational professional codes of conduct.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a focus on the two teaching subjects.
- Academic Achievement: Minimum of C+ (Plus) in K.C.S.E and C+ in the two teaching subjects.
- Registration: Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission.
- Experience: At least 2 years of teaching experience.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of Kiswahili and Geography, with effective pedagogical strategies.
- Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or facilitating Kiswahili and Geography education at various levels.

- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Technology Proficiency: Skilled in using technology for teaching, including online platforms and educational software.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high teaching standards.

- Adaptability: Flexibility to cater to different learning styles and adjust to evolving educational environments.
