Job Title: Headteacher
Reports to: School Director

Job Summary:

St. Martin DePorres Education Centre is seeking an exceptional Headteacher to lead our vibrant school. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the school director to develop and implement strategies to enhance teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement comprehensive academic programs and curricula for primary and junior school levels.
• Monitor school performance, conduct regular evaluations, and provide insightful reports to senior leadership.
• Prioritize learners’ well-being by developing a culture that fosters responsive relationships between staff and students.
• Promote holistic development of students, including extracurricular activities and counseling services.
• Address student and parent concerns promptly and effectively.
• Coordinate with boarding staff to ensure high standards of care and supervision.
• Ensure compliance with educational policies, regulations, and health and safety standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and improvement of school facilities.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, the local community, and educational authorities.
• Represent the school at meetings, conferences, and community events.
• Ensure high-quality education delivery and maintain academic standards.
• Promote the school’s vision, mission, and values.
• Support the implementation of school policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Competencies:

• Minimum of a diploma in education or a related field.
• Previous experience in a senior leadership role within a school setting is highly desirable.
• Being a Catholic is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of the Kenyan education system.
• Proven track record of academic leadership and school management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Open-mindedness and willingness to explore new ideas and approaches.
• Proven ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Must be registered by the TSC.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
