Reporting To: Head of School
Job Summary
The French Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students. The role involves designing and implementing effective lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, managing classroom discipline, and fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
- Classroom Management:
- Supervise student behavior within the classroom, school grounds, and during educational trips.
- Conduct daily inspections to ensure students do not bring prohibited substances to school.
- Curriculum Development:
- Plan and develop engaging courses of study following best educational practices and school guidelines.
- Design and deliver lesson plans catering to various learning styles using diverse teaching techniques.
- Prepare and submit schemes of work for approval by the HOD, Quality Assurance, and Head of School.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Prepare lesson materials, assignments, and tests; evaluate and grade student performance.
- Monitor and report on student progress, addressing academic or behavioral issues as they arise.
- Evaluate student readiness for transition to the next academic level.
- Communication:
- Professionally communicate progress and concerns to parents, faculty, staff, and the Head of School.
- Serve as a liaison between learners, school management, and parents on matters of communication, discipline, and academics.
- Organize and coordinate class excursions, events, and trips.
- Extra-Curricular Activities:
- Participate in coordinating and coaching students in extracurricular activities.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Enforce school rules, regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain required records, including attendance and incident reports.
- Professional Development:
- Attend faculty meetings, educational conferences, workshops, and other training seminars.
Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
- Registered with the Teacher Service Commission (TSC).
- Professional Development Qualifications in Edexcel/CAIE are preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in handling the British Curriculum.
- Key Competencies and Attributes:
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate departmental goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in creating and teaching effective lesson plans.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Creative and engaging presentation skills.
- Proficient in using technology to enhance learning.
- Resourceful and able to teach effectively with available resources.
- Results-oriented with the ability to achieve desired outcomes.
