Govt Announces Fully Funded Australian Scholarships for Kenyans: How to Apply.

The Kenya High Commission in Canberra, Australia, has partnered with Stanley International College to offer full scholarships to eligible Kenyan students.

This initiative aims to support academically qualified individuals to pursue their studies in Perth, Western Australia.

Scholarship Details

Under the agreement, Kenyan students who meet the eligibility criteria can secure scholarships to study the following undergraduate programs:

  • Bachelor of Community Service
  • Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology

Successful applicants will receive:

  • 100% tuition fee coverage
  • A waiver of the AUD 230 (approx. Ksh19,320) enrolment fee

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. KCSE Grade: A minimum grade of B plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
  2. English Proficiency: A satisfactory score in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall score of 6.5 and no individual band below 6.0 (or equivalent).
  3. Residency: Applicants must be Kenyan residents at the time of application.

Relatives of the High Commission staff are not eligible for this scholarship. The commission also clarified that it does not receive any proceeds from the scholarship program.

Application Process

Eligible candidates are required to follow these steps:

  1. Access the Application Form: Download the form from the Ministry of Education website at education.go.ke.
  2. Complete the Form: Fill out all sections of the application form accurately.
  3. Submit the Application: Send the completed form to the High Commission via email at [email protected].

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by Friday, December 6, 2024.

Additional Notes

The High Commission emphasized that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next steps in the application process.
