TSC Interview Scoresheet for Promotion of Senior Teachers and Deputies.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) uses a structured guide to score candidates during promotions for senior positions such as Headteacher, Principal, Deputy Headteacher, and Deputy Principal. Below is a breakdown of the scoring criteria:

1. Acting Experience in Leadership Roles

Points are awarded based on the duration of service in acting capacities as Headteacher, Principal, Deputy Headteacher, or Deputy Principal.

2. Length of Stay in Current Grade

Marks are allocated depending on how long a teacher has remained in their current grade.

3. Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) Ratings

Candidates’ TPAD ratings also contribute to their overall scores.

4. Age of the Candidate

Points are granted based on the candidate’s age at the time of the interview.

5. Oral Questions

Candidates are evaluated during oral interviews, with a maximum of 13 marks allocated for this category.

6. Co-Curricular Achievements (Since 2020)

Marks are awarded for co-curricular activities achieved at various levels:

7. KCPE/KCSE Results (2020, 2021, and 2022)

Teachers’ involvement in managing national exam results is scored up to a maximum of 6 marks.

8. Communication Skills

Communication is assessed separately, with 1 mark allocated for this category.

Total Score
