President Ruto Launches UoN’s Sh4.7bn Tech and Innovation Park.
On Monday, President William Ruto unveiled the University of Nairobi (UoN) Silicon Savannah Innovation Park at State House, Nairobi.
The facility aims to foster advanced research and innovation in key sectors such as artificial intelligence, green engineering, and advanced manufacturing.
The Silicon Savannah Innovation Park is part of the “Big 5” transformation projects at UoN, valued at Sh4.7 billion, with funding from the Government of France.
It serves as a cornerstone of Kenya’s ambition to position itself as a leading technology and innovation hub in Africa and beyond.
During the launch, President Ruto emphasized that the park is a significant investment in Kenya’s youth, urging them to seize the opportunities it offers.

He highlighted that the government is committed to shaping a future that provides young people with avenues to learn, work, and innovate.
The President viewed the innovation park as a platform to propel Kenya’s digital economy and foster youth-led innovation.
Kenya in the 5th Industrial Revolution
President Ruto remarked that the Silicon Savannah Innovation Park is not merely an infrastructure project but a step toward Kenya leading the 5th Industrial Revolution.
The park underscores Kenya’s commitment to advancing its technological and global standing. He encouraged stakeholders to capitalize on this initiative to create a legacy of inclusive and transformative growth.
The innovation park is integral to achieving Kenya’s Vision 2030 and Africa’s Agenda 2063. President Ruto highlighted the youth as Africa’s most valuable resource, describing them as a wellspring of creativity, energy, and ambition.
He noted that the project aims not only to create jobs but also to fundamentally reshape Kenya’s economic structure for sustained development.
