The President emphasized that by the end of January, the government would support displaced residents in West Pokot to return home.
This would enable pupils to return to their original schools, easing congestion in other institutions.
Teachers to Support Education Efforts
The Kerio Valley, which spans the borders of Elgeyo-Marakwet, West Pokot, and Baringo counties, has suffered significant disruption to education.
To address the shortage of educators, Ruto announced that 100 teachers would be deployed to the region to support the most severely affected schools.
The North Rift region, particularly West Pokot, Baringo, Samburu, Turkana, and Elgeyo-Marakwet counties, has experienced widespread devastation from cattle rustlers and bandits.
