How to Access an Individual Learner’s KPSEA/KILEA Performance Report.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has officially announced the release of the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) results.
The assessment reports have been uploaded to the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal at http://cba.knec.ac.ke.
Schools that submitted candidates for the assessment are urged to log in to the portal to access learner-specific performance reports. KNEC extended congratulations to all 2024 KPSEA candidates for their efforts.
How to Access an Individual Learner’s KPSEA/KILEA Report
To access a specific learner’s KPSEA or Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) performance report, follow these steps:
- Login to the CBA portal at cba.knec.ac.ke.
- Select either the KPSEA or KILEA Portal.
- Under the “Reports” section, click on “View Reports.”
- Enter the learner’s assessment number and click on “Download” to obtain the KPSEA/KILEA performance report.
It is important to note that only schools have access to download KPSEA slips.
Overview of the 2024 KPSEA
The 2024 KPSEA, conducted between October 28 and October 30, involved 1,313,913 Grade 6 learners from 35,573 centers across the country.
This assessment, an integral part of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), is designed to evaluate students’ core competencies and values at the upper primary level.
According to KNEC, the results are instrumental in identifying learning gaps and shaping interventions to enhance primary school education.
KNEC highlighted that the results also provide classroom teachers with critical information about learning challenges noted at the conclusion of the primary education phase.
Transition to Junior School
The KPSEA represents a significant milestone for Grade 6 learners as they advance to Grade 7. This assessment evaluates practical skills and competencies, helping determine the learners’ readiness for the next stage of their education journey.
The KPSEA results contribute 20 percent of the learner’s overall score, with school-based assessments accounting for another 20 percent.
A final summative evaluation, conducted at the end of Grade 9, will constitute the remaining 60 percent.

Grade 9 marks the final phase of Junior School, after which learners will transition to Senior School in 2026, where they will select their career pathways.
Parents can view their child’s performance by visiting the CBA portal and entering the learner’s index number and name. This platform provides parents with insights into their child’s progress and readiness for the next educational stage.
