KCSE 2024 Results: KNEC Addresses Anxiety Over Delays in Exam Results Release.
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has reassured the public that the release of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results is on schedule.
Concerns had arisen over a perceived delay, but KNEC clarified that the results would be released within the timeframe communicated by Education Principal Secretary (PS) Belio Kipsang.
The Ministry of Education had earlier announced that the KCSE results would be released in early January 2025, leading to heightened anticipation as the initial deadline seemed to pass.
However, a KNEC official, speaking anonymously, emphasized that the council remains committed to meeting the timeline. The official stated that KNEC is working diligently to ensure results are available within ten days, as outlined by PS Kipsang.
According to the official, the timeline aligns with tradition, and the second week of January has not yet ended. The official reiterated that there was no basis for speculations about delays, stating that KNEC is adhering to the established schedule.
Clarification from Education PS Belio Kipsang
On January 3, PS Kipsang dismissed claims of delays, asserting that the council was taking the necessary time to ensure the smooth release of results.
He refuted allegations of manipulation favoring elite national schools. Kipsang assured Kenyans that the results would be out by Monday, January 13, emphasizing that this year’s timeline was only perceived as unusual due to the absence of Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations.
Kipsang explained that while it might feel like something is missing, the council is on track to release the KCSE results within the promised ten-day window.

The delay in releasing the results sparked anxiety among Kenyans, with many taking to social media to voice their frustrations. Comments ranged from humorous takes to harsh criticisms.
One user, PropesaTV, joked about potential delays in sending students to universities while awaiting results. Another, EDGAR, likened the situation to an “abduction” of KCSE results.
Meanwhile, Juma G expressed dissatisfaction with government inefficiency, alleging potential manipulation of the results. Despite these reactions, no evidence has been presented to support such claims.
KPSEA Results Released
While KCSE results are eagerly awaited, the Ministry of Education has announced the release of the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examination results. In a statement on January 7, KNEC confirmed that the reports are available on the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal.
Schools that participated in the KPSEA exams have been advised to log into the CBA portal to access learner-specific reports. This announcement brought some relief amidst the anticipation surrounding the KCSE results.
KNEC has urged Kenyans to remain patient, reassuring the public that everything is progressing as planned.
As the second week of January unfolds, candidates and their families await the official announcement of the 2024 KCSE results, confident in the council’s commitment to transparency and efficiency.
