Al-Azaar High Shines Bright in Garissa County for the Fourth Year.
For the fourth consecutive year, Al-Azaar High School, a private institution in Garissa Township, has outperformed public secondary schools in the county. Among its top achievers is Mohamed Abdirizack Osman, who emerged as one of the best students in Northeastern Kenya with an A- of 75 points.
During a celebration at the school, Mohamed attributed his success to hard work, determination, prayers, and unwavering support from teachers, parents, and peers.
He reflected on the rigorous journey leading to his achievement and expressed gratitude for the assistance he received. Looking ahead, Mohamed, who dreams of pursuing a medical career, remained optimistic about realizing his aspirations while acknowledging the hard work yet to come.
Seventeen-year-old Sumeya Ali, the best female student in the region with a B+, encouraged other girls to aim high in their academic pursuits. Accompanied by her father, Sumeya announced her ambition to study engineering at the university.
She expressed determination to challenge societal norms within her community by excelling in a traditionally male-dominated field. Her father, Mohamud Shukri, pledged his continued support and urged fellow parents to prioritize education and allow children to choose their preferred courses.
Focus on Healthcare
Ahmedamin Abdirahman Sheikh, another top student with a B+, expressed a desire to pursue a healthcare-related course at the university. He emphasized his passion for addressing health challenges in the region and beyond, aiming to contribute positively through his chosen field of study.
Lunai Godfrey, a teacher at Al-Azaar High School, highlighted the institution’s consistent success in national exams as a result of collective efforts by stakeholders.

He praised the disciplined and focused approach of former students and acknowledged the critical role of the school manager in creating a conducive learning environment.
Godfrey described the achievements as a reflection of the school’s dedication and sustained hard work over the years.
