The small village of Kapsumet in Kericho County was abuzz with celebration as residents came together to honor Mercy Chebet, a mother of three, who achieved a B grade in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
Jubilant songs and cheers filled the air as the community recognized her exceptional accomplishment.
A Journey of Determination and Sacrifice
Mercy Chebet’s academic journey has been nothing short of inspirational. Married in 2008 when she was still in Form Two, her education was interrupted to prioritize family life.
Despite the challenges, she enrolled at Matm Secondary School years later, determined to rekindle her academic aspirations.
Chebet’s determination and hard work have now paid off, with her B grade securing her a place in university.
