KUCCPS Lists KMTC Programmes for March 2025 Intake
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has published a list of diploma and certificate programmes available at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) for the March 2025 intake. The application portal, which opened last week, will close on February 14, 2025.
KUCCPS revealed that KMTC offers several certificate courses across various health-related disciplines.
Applicants seeking admission into courses such as Community Health Assistant, Health Records and Information Technology, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing, Medical Emergency Technician, Public Health, and Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine must meet the minimum requirement of a C- grade.
For the Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics and Certificate in Medical Engineering, a minimum D+ grade is required.
Diploma Programmes and Criteria
The institution is also offering numerous diploma courses, including Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Emergency Medical Technology, and Health Counselling, which require a minimum mean grade of C. Those applying for the Diploma in Health Insurance Management also need at least a C grade.
The Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology has specific subject requirements, including a C in English or Kiswahili, a C- in Mathematics, and at least a D+ in Biology or other relevant subjects like Agriculture, Chemistry, or Computer Science. This course is being offered at the Isiolo, Maua, Nairobi, and Siaya campuses.
Specialized Diploma Courses
Applicants interested in the Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing must have a C grade overall, with a C in either English or Kiswahili and Biology or Business, and a C- in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
Additional diploma programmes requiring a minimum grade of C include Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing and Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing (Mental Health and Psychiatry), Medical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Social Work, and Mortuary Science.
Psychiatry courses are available at Mathare, Murang’a, and Port Reitz campuses. Meanwhile, nursing and midwifery programmes are being offered at Homa Bay, Kakamega, Kombewa, and Mosoriot campuses.
For the Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics, the entry requirement is a C-. The Diploma in Occupational Therapy and Diploma in Optometry require a minimum grade of C.
Other diploma courses, including Orthopaedic Technology, Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Public Health, Radiography and Imaging, and Speech and Language Therapy, also have a minimum grade requirement of C.

Additional Opportunities in TVET Institutions
KUCCPS has also announced that applications for 266 government-operated Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions will open in May 2025.
Diploma/Level 6 courses require a minimum grade of C-, while Craft Certificate/Level 5 courses require a D grade, and Artisan Certificate/Level 4 courses need at least an E.
The agency stated that the application window is open to students who completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams between 2000 and 2024.
