Term One Secondary School Ball Games Begin in Mombasa.
The much-anticipated Term One Kenya Secondary School ball games commence this Tuesday morning across various venues in Mombasa County.
Teams from eight regions will compete in a range of disciplines, including 15s rugby, basketball, hockey, swimming, and handball, with participation from both boys’ and girls’ teams.
In 15s rugby, All Saints from Embu, the current title holders and representatives of the Eastern region, are set to begin their title defense against Coast-based Sirani in Pool A.
The defending champions in girls’ hockey, St. Joseph from Rift Valley, will open their campaign facing hosts St. Charles Luanga. During last year’s group stages, St. Joseph had outplayed All Saints with a 6-3 win and later reviewed their tactics ahead of this year’s matches.
They are scheduled to play Vigga in their first game and reported having had a positive preparation.
In basketball, Western powerhouse Vigga School will go head-to-head with Kisii School, while in Pool A, Coast region’s Dr. Aggrey School, the defending champions in boys’ basketball, are preparing to launch their campaign against Nairobi’s Dagoretti High.
