Education Ministry Reshuffles Sub-County Directors: Transfers and Appointments
The Ministry of Education has initiated a mini reshuffle, transferring several Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDE).
In Kisii County, George Ouma, previously the SCDE of Kenyenya, has been reassigned to Borabu in Nyamira County.
He has been succeeded by Gladys Otieno, who takes over after Ouma’s seven-year tenure.
In his farewell address to the residents of Kenyenya on Tuesday, the outgoing SCDE expressed his gratitude to the region’s head teachers, led by David Osoro of Motive Secondary School, for their cooperation.
He highlighted their achievement of posting the best examination results in Kisii County during his tenure.

He urged them to collaborate closely with the new SCDE to further enhance the education standards in the region.
Teachers Service Commission’s Commitment
Simultaneously, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Kenyenya SCDE, Shem Odhiambo, emphasized that the Education Ministry and TSC directors are committed to working together to achieve academic excellence in the area.
He mentioned that he and the incoming SCDE have agreed to work closely with head teachers to ensure positive competition with high-performing schools nationwide.

However, the fate of the outgoing Borabu SCDE and the replacement for Gladys Otieno in Migori Sub County were not confirmed at the time of publishing this story.
