In response to the rising number of road accidents, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi recently instructed the National Police Service (NPS) to enforce stricter measures on vehicle roadworthiness.
He directed traffic police officers to ensure all public service vehicles (PSVs) meet required safety standards, including proper documentation and valid licenses.
He emphasized the importance of vehicles being registered under Saccos or recognized institutions and adhering to their designated routes.
Mudavadi further mandated that every PSV display its Sacco or company name, inspection status, and hold a valid Road Service License. These measures are intended to enhance road safety and curb the escalating number of fatalities on Kenyan roads.
