He believes that the team has reached a level of preparedness required to excel at the East Africa School Games.

Bouncing Back from National Finals

Although Butula High School narrowly lost the national final 12-10 to All Saints of Embu, Shimenga remains optimistic about their chances.

He assured that the team has been refining key areas such as line-outs, rucks, and set pieces, which they have now perfected.

The Kenyan team has been placed in a challenging group alongside defending champions St. Mary’s Kisubi, Makerere, and Kitondo.

Coach Shimenga acknowledged the difficulty of the group, emphasizing the need for perfection in all aspects of the game to progress. He stressed the importance of taking one game at a time and getting every detail right during the matches.

“It is a tough pool with very good teams; that is why we have to be perfect in all the departments and take one game at a time. We have to get things right in every moment of the matches we play, as I said a game at a time,” he stated.
