CS Ogamba Vows to Expel Education Officers Involved in Exam Cheating.

The Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education, Julius Ogamba, has provided assurance that this year’s national examinations are secure. He added that the government has implemented sufficient measures to prevent exam irregularities.

Speaking at Siala Technical and Vocational Training Center in Rongo, where he led a tree-planting event, Ogamba emphasized the ministry’s commitment to ensuring a credible examination process.

Ogamba warned that anyone involved in cheating within the education sector would face severe consequences, including expulsion.

He explained that advanced security technologies have been integrated into this year’s examination process to curb malpractices. Individuals caught engaging in such acts will face penalties, and those working in education will be banned from the sector.

“If you are caught in any exam malpractice this time the law will take its natural course, there will be penalties…you will be barred from operating in the education sector,” said Ogamba.

Appeal for Sector-Wide Support

The Cabinet Secretary urged all stakeholders in the education sector to cooperate with the government in delivering a credible examination. He emphasized the importance of collective effort in achieving this goal.

In addressing ongoing challenges within the education sector, Ogamba acknowledged the difficulties the government is tackling.

He expressed disappointment that some individuals, who are supposed to assist in improving the system, are instead criticizing it.
