Education CS Migos Ogamba Appoints Julius Aritho as Acting Managing Director of KLB

Julius Migos Ogamba, the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Education, has named Julius Aritho as the Acting Managing Director of the Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB) until February 2025.

According to a press release from KLB, the appointment will last for six months, starting on September 1, 2024, or until a permanent Managing Director is appointed.

The new appointment follows the successful completion of Victor Lomaria’s term as Managing Director. Aritho has been tasked with overseeing the Bureau’s operations during this transitional period, ensuring continuity until a permanent leader is chosen.

During the handover ceremony held on August 29, 2024, at the KLB Board Room in South C, Board Chairperson Dr. Rispah Wepukhulu urged the staff and senior management to fully cooperate with Aritho in his new role.

She emphasized the importance of teamwork and seamless operations during this transition, reaffirming the Board’s commitment and support to the new Acting Managing Director.

Expressions of Gratitude and Commitment

Victor Lomaria, the outgoing Managing Director, thanked the Board and top management for their collaboration and support throughout his tenure.

He encouraged the staff to extend their full support to Aritho. Aritho, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the CS for the opportunity and assured the Board of his dedication to the role. He committed to working with all stakeholders to further the Bureau’s progress.

Background and Qualifications

Before his current appointment, Julius Aritho served as the Internal Audit Manager and Finance Manager at KLB since 2006. His academic qualifications include a Master of Business Administration (Accounting Option) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option), both from the University of Nairobi.

Additionally, Aritho is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and a Certified ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Internal Auditor.
