Mr. Machogu stated that the Wings to Fly Scholarship Program has enabled a number of students to make remarkable contributions in various disciplines, both locally and internationally.

State Department for Basic Education,Principal Secretary Dr. Belio Kipsang, and State Department for Higher Education and Research,Principal Secretary Dr. Beatrice Muganda Inyangala were present for the event.

Dr. Mwangi expressed his appreciation for the government’s backing of EGF, commending how their assistance has enabled the organization to grant scholarships to numerous students since its establishment.

Approximately 17,000 students have gained access to university education, 3,400 of whom have already graduated.

871 of the students have secured scholarships at American universities, according to Mwangi. This includes 218 at Ivy League institutions.

Dr. Mwangi stated that the foundation has established a scholarship program to enable 14 percent of students who do not meet the minimum requirements for university education to pursue courses at Technical and Vocational Training colleges.

Dr. Kipsang stated that the initiative, which is currently in its fifteenth year, has improved the lives of hundreds of children and thanked EGF for the charitable contribution.

Dr. Inyangala requested that EGF collaborate with the government to train instructors, stating that the training would enhance their capacity to provide superior training experiences to students enrolled in TVET programs.

The Wings to Fly scholarship program, a joint initiative of the Equity Group and Mastercard Foundation (MCF), supports the secondary education of economically disadvantaged children with superior academic performance.

During their four years of secondary education, the program provides the scholars with tuition fees, housing, books, uniforms, purchasing money, pocket money, and transportation to and from school.
