Eregi TTC to Achieve Full University Accreditation
Kakamega County Governor Fernandes Barasa has committed to expediting the upgrade of Eregi Teachers Training College (ETTC) into a fully-fledged university.
The County, in collaboration with the National Government, aims to offer diverse courses to students in the region and nearby counties.
Barasa revealed that this initiative is part of their ambitious development plans to enroll more students in specialized courses.
A task force appointed by the Governor recommended that ETTC be upgraded to a constituent campus of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.
The college, located in Ikolomani Sub County, is expected to benefit significantly from this transformation.
The Governor made these remarks while speaking to stakeholders from the Idhako South community at his home in Harambee, Matungu Sub-County.
He assured them of his administration’s commitment to critical initiatives, including converting Milimani and Imalava dispensaries into self-sufficient health centers, equipping Sheywe Polytechnic, constructing Lukose Bridge, and gazetting Imalaba Market.
Additionally, he mentioned building Shisejeri modern market and completing the Butwehe last mile water connectivity in the Kaluni, Shanjesto, and Madivini areas.
