Evojo Primary School Mourns Headteacher, Finds Human Head in Toilet.
Evojo Primary School in Sabatia Subcounty has been closed indefinitely following the discovery of human body parts in one of its toilets. The incident, which sent shockwaves through the local community, was confirmed by the Sabatia Subcounty Police Commander, Peter Mbua, on Tuesday, May 6.
A video accessed by teachersupdates.news showed the demolished toilet where the remains were discovered. Operations to retrieve the body parts were still underway at the time, involving the use of cranes and pumps. Curious and distressed bystanders gathered at the scene as the retrieval process continued.
Deputy Headteacher Oscar Changilwa disclosed that the disturbing find came shortly after the school had resumed sessions following the burial of its headteacher. He explained that upon returning to school, a pupil had gone to the toilet and reported seeing a human head.
Teachers rushed to the scene, and after pouring water to get a clearer view, Changilwa confirmed it was indeed a human head. He promptly alerted the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Education, the Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC), and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
He noted that the students were already emotionally distressed by the recent loss of their headteacher and were now further traumatised by the horrific discovery.
By the time this article was published, authorities had not released any additional details regarding the identity of the deceased or the circumstances surrounding the death. However, the nature of the discovery suggested the victim may have been dismembered before the remains were disposed of in the school toilet.
This unsettling case adds to a string of similarly disturbing incidents reported across Kenya. Cases involving individuals being murdered and dumped in toilets or fatalities resulting from collapsing latrines have become increasingly frequent.
In a similar case reported in March 2024, a 28-year-old female nurse was found dead inside a toilet at a building in Embu County housing a therapy centre. Reports indicated she had locked herself in the facility and overdosed on painkillers. The woman had sought counselling to cope with a troubled marriage, but unfortunately succumbed to her emotional struggles. Preliminary investigations concluded she had taken her own life.
Friends reacted online with sorrow, encouraging those in similar marital or relationship struggles to seek professional help and make choices that prioritise the well-being of their families.
