Job Title: Headteacher

Job Summary:

St. Martin De Porres Education Centre is looking for an exceptional Headteacher to lead our school. The ideal candidate will provide visionary leadership, demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, and possess a deep understanding of both academic and pastoral care. The Headteacher will foster a supportive environment and uphold our values of integrity, respect, and holistic development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the school director to develop and implement strategies to enhance educational outcomes.
• Design and implement comprehensive academic programs and curricula for primary and junior levels.
• Monitor school performance, conduct regular evaluations, and provide insightful feedback.
• Prioritize student well-being by developing a supportive and inclusive environment.
• Oversee the academic and personal development of students, including extracurricular activities and community engagement.
• Address and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
• Coordinate with boarding staff to ensure high standards of care and supervision.
• Ensure compliance with educational policies, regulations, and health and safety standards.
• Oversee the maintenance and improvement of school facilities.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, the local community, and educational stakeholders.
• Represent the school at events, conferences, and in the local community.
• Promote the school’s vision, mission, and values.
• Support the implementation of school policies and procedures.

Key Qualifications and Competencies:

• A minimum of a Diploma in Education or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a senior leadership role within a school is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of academic leadership and school management.
• Proven track record of academic leadership and school improvement.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Open-mindedness and willingness to explore new ideas and approaches.
• Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
