The management of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has disclosed details about a fire that broke out early Tuesday morning in one of the student hostels.
The fire affected 88 students who were accommodated on the second floor of the hostel. Personal effects and valuables belonging to the students were destroyed in the blaze.
The incident resulted in minor injuries among some students, all of whom have been treated and discharged from the hospital, except for three who remain under observation at the university hospital.
JKUAT has assured affected students of support, including counseling services and alternative housing arrangements.
