Kitengela International School, a prominent institution offering both the British International Curriculum and the Kenyan education system, is expanding its team. We are seeking a highly qualified, self-motivated, and results-driven professional to fill the position of Global Perspective Teacher. This role is integral to our educational ecosystem, providing students with a safe, inclusive, and enriching learning environment.

Job Summary

The Global Perspective Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that adhere to the curriculum and school guidelines, fostering student discipline, and creating a positive classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Student Supervision: Oversee student behavior both in class and during school activities, including educational trips.
  • Safety and Discipline: Conduct regular inspections to ensure students are not bringing prohibited items to school and enforce safety standards.
  • Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational best practices and school curriculum guidelines.
  • Instruction Delivery: Design and deliver lessons in one or more subjects, using diverse teaching methods to cater to various learning styles.
  • Documentation: Prepare and submit term schemes of work, syllabus coverage reports, and maintain accurate student records.
  • Student Support: Address academic and behavioral issues, monitor student progress, and communicate effectively with parents and school staff.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Organize and coordinate class excursions, events, and participate in student coaching and extra-curricular activities.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between students, school management, and parents, ensuring timely updates on school events and issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education
  • Registration with the Teacher Service Commission (TSC) and professional development in Edexcel / CAIE
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with the British Curriculum

  • Lesson Planning: Capability to create and deliver effective lesson plans and manage student behavior.

  • Creativity and Engagement: Effective presentation skills and creative teaching methods.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Resourcefulness: Ability to teach effectively with available resources and adapt to student skill levels.
  • Results-Oriented: Focus on achieving desired educational outcomes.
