Kakamega Governor Calls for Urgent Recruitment of More Teachers.

Kakamega Governor Fernandez Barasa has urged the national government to prioritize the construction of more classrooms and the hiring of additional teachers for Junior Secondary School (JSS) students.

Speaking at Mumias Central Primary School, Barasa acknowledged the government’s ongoing efforts to address the needs of JSS students but stressed the importance of improving infrastructure and increasing the number of educators across the country.

Governor Barasa emphasized that regions with high student enrollment, such as Mumias Central, require immediate attention.

He called on the Ministry of Education to focus on building more classrooms and upgrading school facilities to accommodate the growing number of students.

“I want to call upon the national government through the Ministry of Education to improve the infrastructure of our junior secondary,” he said.

Additionally, he underscored the need for the government to accelerate the recruitment of more teachers to ensure quality education for JSS learners.

As student populations continue to rise, the governor’s call for action highlights the critical need for enhanced infrastructure and sufficient staffing in schools, particularly in areas with high enrollment like Mumias Central.
