KCSE Supervisors Arrested for Leaking Exam Paper in Marsabit.

An exam supervisor in Marsabit County is being detained at Marsabit Police Station following allegations of holding copies of Kenya’s national Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam papers.

Marsabit County Police Commander Leonard Kimaiyo reported that the arrest took place around 4 p.m. on Monday after officers from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) apprehended the suspect.

Authorities have launched further investigations to assess the full extent of the security breach. KNEC underscored its dedication to preserving the integrity of the national examination process as these investigations unfold.


Arrests at Nyamninia Secondary School for Exam Malpractice

In a separate incident at Nyamninia Secondary School, located in Gem Yala sub-county, thirteen teachers, including nine invigilators, were detained on suspicion of facilitating exam malpractice.

During an ongoing KCSE exam session, candidates were reportedly found with photocopied answers to Mathematics Paper 2.

The individuals in custody include:

  • Nyamninia Secondary School’s exam supervisor
  • A Board of Management (BOM) teacher from St. Mary’s School Yala
  • Nyamninia Secondary School’s center manager
  • Deputy center manager
