Kenyatta University Reviews Curriculum and Research Strategies.
Kenyatta University (KU) has initiated a comprehensive review to tackle recurring challenges such as low graduation rates, outdated academic programmes, and insufficient research commercialisation.
This evaluation aims to enhance the university’s performance across critical areas including student retention, curriculum relevance, Ph.D. enrolment, and research dissemination effectiveness.
The process is being spearheaded by the University Council Chairperson, Dr. Ben Chumo, alongside acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Waceke Wanjohi. Dr. Chumo emphasized the importance of the review, stating that the university must critically assess its current position to pinpoint and address areas impeding progress.
Prof. Wanjohi reinforced this sentiment, highlighting that the review is vital for aligning the institution’s strategies with national goals while adapting to the evolving education landscape. She noted that the outcomes of the review will play a pivotal role in shaping the university’s future direction.
