The process is being spearheaded by the University Council Chairperson, Dr. Ben Chumo, alongside acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Waceke Wanjohi. Dr. Chumo emphasized the importance of the review, stating that the university must critically assess its current position to pinpoint and address areas impeding progress.

Prof. Wanjohi reinforced this sentiment, highlighting that the review is vital for aligning the institution’s strategies with national goals while adapting to the evolving education landscape. She noted that the outcomes of the review will play a pivotal role in shaping the university’s future direction.

Eliud Owalo, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Performance and Delivery Management, is leading the broader process to ensure public institutions align with Kenya’s Vision 2030 and the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). He stressed that such reviews are crucial for fostering accountability and ensuring that public institutions effectively fulfill their national responsibilities.

This undertaking reflects Kenyatta University’s commitment to positioning itself as a leading institution that meets the demands of a dynamic education environment while contributing to the country’s development goals.
