1. Chief Principal Curriculum Development Officer, Primary Education (KICD Grade 3, 1 Post)
Reporting to: Senior Deputy Director, Curriculum Development
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing the development, implementation, and review of curricula and support materials
- Coordinating activities of the Research Panel and Academic Committee
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure curriculum standards are met
- Supervising curriculum review and development processes
- Organizing symposia, exhibitions, conferences, and workshops for knowledge dissemination
- Leading research on education trends and updating the research database
- Managing publication of research materials, including abstracts and journals
- Supervising the production and evaluation of educational resources
- Overseeing quality control in curriculum-related printing activities
- Mentoring and coaching staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant field with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education

2. Chief Principal Curriculum Development Officer, Secondary Education (KICD Grade 3, 1 Post)
The Chief Principal Curriculum Development Officer, Secondary Education, will be under the supervision of the Senior Deputy Director of Curriculum Development.
Duties and Responsibilities
The role at this level involves multiple key responsibilities, including overseeing the development, implementation, and review of curricula and curriculum support materials. The officer will be tasked with coordinating the formulation of relevant and high-quality educational resources while ensuring their effective implementation in learning institutions.
Additionally, the officer will manage the activities of the Research Panel and Academic Committee. Establishing collaborations with various stakeholders will be a priority to ensure that the curricula meet the required standards. Supervising the review process of curriculum and support materials will also be an essential function.
Another key responsibility involves fostering partnerships with educational stakeholders and overseeing the organization of symposia, exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and education days. These events will serve as platforms for sharing and disseminating research findings. Furthermore, the officer will be responsible for coordinating research on emerging educational areas, which contribute to the general body of knowledge.
To facilitate curriculum implementation monitoring, the officer will ensure the continuous update of the Research Information Management System. Supervising the publication of research documents, including books and the East African Journal of Educational Research (EAJER), will be required. Abstracts of research reports will be prepared for dissemination on the official website. Additionally, collaborations and partnerships with stakeholders in education research will be initiated.
Beyond these responsibilities, the officer will oversee the quality printing process through the design, development, and production of print educational resources. Coordination of educational resource evaluations and other curriculum support materials produced by stakeholders across all education levels will be undertaken. Ensuring access to quality library and archival materials, maintaining an educational resources database, and facilitating access to multimedia curriculum support materials through a well-stocked multimedia bookshop will also be managed.
The officer will supervise the preparation of departmental work plans and budgets while ensuring the effective implementation of the performance appraisal system. Furthermore, mentoring and coaching departmental staff will be an integral part of the role.
Requirements for Appointment
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant field, complemented by a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s Degree in Education, Business Management, Public Policy, Research, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- A cumulative service period of twelve (12) years, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Senior Principal Curriculum Development Officer or an equivalent role.
- Completion of a leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
- A demonstrated high level of professional competence, managerial, and administrative capabilities as reflected in work performance and results.
- Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
3. Deputy Director, Internal Audit (KICD Grade 3, 1 Post)
Reporting to: Director/Chief Executive Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and reviewing operational and management policies
- Implementing fraud investigation strategies and risk assessment frameworks
- Preparing and submitting audit reports
- Overseeing compliance with auditing principles and internal controls
- Managing the internal audit team and setting performance targets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in relevant Finance/Accounting fields
- CPA (Part III) or ACCA qualification
- Minimum of 15 years of experience, including 3 years in senior auditing roles
- Membership in the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution
4. Assistant Director, Legal Services (KICD Grade 4, 1 Post)
Reporting to: Director/Chief Executive Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing legal support to the Council and ensuring compliance with laws
- Managing contracts, leases, agreements, and legal documents
- Handling litigation and coordinating legal audits

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Master of Laws (LL.M)

10. PRINCIPAL ICT OFFICER – KICD GRADE 5 (1 POST)
The Principal ICT Officer will report to the Assistant Director of ICT.
Duties and Responsibilities
The officer will be tasked with:
- Assessing system performance and ensuring adherence to set standards.
- Managing work and changes related to ICT infrastructure.
- Administering and maintaining LAN and WAN networks.
- Preparing progress reports on ICT system operations.
- Controlling and monitoring user access to databases.
- Optimizing database performance.
- Managing outsourced ICT services.
- Ensuring proper maintenance and security of IT services and systems.
- Recommending and supervising hardware/software specifications.
- Maintaining the Centre’s network, servers, and audiovisual systems.
- Enforcing ICT policies in alignment with national policies.

- At least 8 years of relevant experience, with 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Completion of a management course lasting at least four weeks.
- Membership in a relevant professional body.
