KISM has established six distinct membership categories, each with different registration requirements and fee structures. Below are the details:
1. Member
This category requires applicants to submit academic and professional certificates certified by a commissioner of oaths. The registration fee for first-time applicants is Ksh. 4,500, with an annual renewal fee of Ksh. 4,000.
2. Student
Designed for individuals with minimal or no practical experience in procurement and supply chain management, this membership requires enrollment in academic or professional studies at recognized institutions. The registration fee for first-time applicants is Ksh. 1,500, while the annual fee is Ksh. 1,000.
3. Associate
This membership is open to professionals with experience in procurement and supply chain management but lacking formal qualifications. First-time applicants must pay Ksh. 4,500 for registration, while the annual renewal fee is Ksh. 4,000.
4. Corporate
This category caters to companies, public bodies, parastatals, institutions, and other organizations committed to professional supply chain management practices. Organizations and their employees must adhere to the KISM Code of Ethics. The subscription fee for corporate membership is Ksh. 25,000.
5. Fellow
This membership is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to KISM or the procurement and supply chain management profession.
6. Honorary Fellow
This category is granted to non-members who have rendered exceptional services to KISM or the profession.
Online Registration Process for KISM Membership
Prospective members can register for KISM membership through the online portal by following these steps:
- Access the KISM member portal.
- Click on “Don’t have an account” to begin registration.
- Choose the membership category under either “Individual” or “Firm.”
- Select the desired membership type and click “Apply.”
- Enter required details, including email address and phone number.
- Click the “Create Account” button to proceed.
- An OTP code will be sent via SMS to the provided phone number.
- Enter the OTP code in the pop-up window and click “Verify.”
- Upon successful verification, users will be redirected to their dashboard.
Professional Courses Offered by KISM
KISM provides a range of supply chain management courses designed to be completed within one to two years. To enroll, students must have a minimum KCSE grade of C+ (plus). The professional certification program is structured into four levels:
- Certified Procurement and Supply Professional (CPSP) Part I
- Certified Procurement and Supply Professional (CPSP) Part II
- Certified Procurement and Supply Professional (CPSP) Part III
- Certified Procurement and Supply Professional (CPSP) Part IV
Entry Requirements for CPSP Examinations
To qualify for CPSP registration, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- A pass in APS (K)
- A degree from a recognized university
- A KCSE mean grade of C+ (plus), with a minimum C+ (plus) in English and Mathematics
- A KACE certificate with at least two principal passes and credits in Mathematics and English at KCE level

KISM Professional Examinations
KISM administers two primary professional certification exams:
- Certification Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya (CPSP-K)
- Associate Procurement and Supply of Kenya (APS-K)
Most courses at KISM last approximately one year. The CPSP-K certification is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work as supply chain managers, procurement officers, executives, or specialists. This program adheres to global industry standards and consists of four components, including a research report. To qualify for the exam, candidates must meet the requirements set by KISM.
Examinations are conducted at KISM examination centers, located at KISM Towers, 100 Ngong Lane, Nairobi. However, the KISM fee structure is not available on online platforms.
