KMTC Dispatches 14,338 Admission Letters for March 2025 Intake.
The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has officially started sending out admission letters to students selected for the March 2025 intake.
KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch confirmed that 14,338 admission letters for pre-service courses have been dispatched.
He explained that these letters are for applicants who submitted their applications via the KUCCPS portal, and their issuance is based on the official list recently received from KUCCPS.
“These are applicants who applied through the KUCCPS portal, and we are issuing letters based on the official list received from KUCCPS over the weekend,” he stated.
In addition to pre-service courses, Dr. Oluoch mentioned that the college has also begun issuing admission letters for students enrolling in upgrading courses. These include diploma, higher diploma, and certificate programs.
Reporting Date and Warning Against Fraudsters
New students joining KMTC are expected to report on March 18, 2025. Dr. Oluoch warned applicants about fraudsters pretending to offer assistance in obtaining admission letters.

He emphasized that all successful applicants have received text notifications with instructions to download their letters from the KMTC portal and clarified that no payment is required to access the documents.
“We are issuing the letters based on the official list of successful applicants received from KUCCPS over the weekend,” he added.
KUCCPS Delay in University Placement Applications
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has clarified the reason behind the delay in opening university placement applications. The delay follows a court ruling that declared the newly introduced university funding model unconstitutional, creating uncertainty in the placement process.
KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Agnes Wahome, addressing Members of Parliament, attributed the delay to the decision made by Justice Chacha Mwita on December 20, 2023.
The ruling failed to provide clear guidelines on how students, including those already placed in various courses, should be handled. As a result, KUCCPS had to pause the application process to prevent a financial crisis in higher education institutions.
Wahome explained that the ruling did not specify how to proceed with students who had been placed under the previous funding model. She emphasized that KUCCPS aimed to avoid financial instability in higher education institutions while awaiting further clarification.
