KMTC Opens 22,070 Training Slots for March 2025 Intake
The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has announced the availability of 22,070 training slots for students enrolling in the March 2025 intake. These courses provide aspiring healthcare professionals with access to high-quality medical education.
In a public notice, CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch encouraged prospective students to submit their applications. He explained that successful candidates would be assigned to one of the College’s 90 campuses, where they would study among 115 programs.
Out of the total slots, 19,570 are designated for preservice training, while 2,500 are allocated for upgrading and Higher Diploma courses.

Dr. Oluoch clarified that preservice programs are open to Form Four graduates who completed the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) between 2000 and 2024.
He emphasized that applications for these programs must be submitted through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). Meanwhile, those interested in upgrading courses, Higher Diplomas, and short courses should apply via the College’s online portal.
KMTC offers a comprehensive training experience, consisting of 70 percent practical instruction and 30 percent theoretical learning. In response to the rising demand for medical courses, the institution has increased training slots in selected campuses to accommodate more students.

“Those interested in upgrading programs, Higher Diploma courses, and short courses can apply through the College portal,” he noted.
To support hands-on learning, KMTC has invested in advanced facilities, including simulation labs, skills labs, and modern training equipment. Additionally, students will have opportunities to engage in extracurricular activities such as sports, ensuring a holistic educational experience.
