KNEC Advertises Training for KCSE Examiners: How to Apply
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is inviting dedicated and qualified teachers to apply for training as KCSE examiners. The training session for potential examiners will be held from August 18th to 24th, 2024.
KNEC will conduct the training for KCSE examiners between 18th and 24th August 2024. The training fee is Ksh10,500, which will be paid by shortlisted applicants who will receive instructions via SMS and the portal.
The training will be strictly residential, and the venue will be communicated to those who qualify. Post-training, KNEC will engage examiners based on recruitment criteria aligned with personnel needs for each paper. Current KCSE examiners in the KNEC database need not apply.

Criteria for Training as an Examiner
General Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be practising teachers in the relevant subject areas at the level of examination.
- Be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Have a Diploma in Education (or higher).
- Have a minimum teaching experience of three years.
- Not be under interdiction or any disciplinary action by the TSC.
- Be recommended by their head of institution.
- Be 50 years of age or below.
Application Procedure
Applicants should:
- Access the KNEC examiners’ portal via the link https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke.
- Log into the portal using their usernames and passwords, or reset the password if forgotten.
- Create an account if they do not have one and follow the instructions to acquire login credentials.
- Complete their personal profile and save it.
- Click on ‘apply for training’ to view and select from available vacancies.

Training slots are limited, and only qualified teachers who provide all required documents will be shortlisted.
