KNEC Releases Schedule for Grade 9 KJSEA Exams.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has unveiled the timeline for the Grade 9 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), scheduled to commence on 27th October 2025, concurrently with the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
Grade 8 learners will advance to Grade 9 in January 2025, culminating their Junior Secondary School (JSS) education with the KJSEA in October 2025. The examination, comprising eleven examinable papers, is set to conclude on 6th November 2025.
Piloting of KJSEA
KNEC piloted the KJSEA earlier in 2024 with current Grade 8 learners from 235 schools. This exercise, held between 15th July and 19th July 2024, provided insights into the exam’s structure and readiness for its full implementation.
