KNUT Calls for More Teachers to Support CBC Implementation
The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) has urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to recruit additional teachers to replace those retiring or leaving the profession for other opportunities.
Kennedy Nyakangi, Executive Secretary of Gucha South Branch, emphasized that the current Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) requires sufficient teaching staff to cater to the needs of inquisitive students.
According to Nyakangi, collaboration between the Minister for Education and TSC is crucial for the success of CBC, necessitating the hiring of more teachers.
Tribute to Elijah Nyangweso
During the retirement ceremony of Elijah Nyangweso, Chairman of Primary Schools Sports Association (KPSSA) in Gucha for two decades, KNUT representative Kennedy Nyakangi highlighted Nyangweso’s dedication to education and sports.
Nyangweso, known for his significant contributions to sports development, facilitated numerous students’ career paths in entities like Kenya Prisons Service and Kenya Breweries Limited.
