Strike Authorization:
The union’s National Executive Council has directed the Secretary General to issue the strike notice, emphasizing that teachers “shall” down their tools if their demands are not met. As a result, schools may not reopen as scheduled in the 116 branches of the Kenya National Union of Teachers.
“Teachers shall down their tools, teachers shall withdraw their labor, and schools will not open.” Said KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu in a press briefing.
