KSSSA Revised Dates for National Secondary Schools Term Two Games

The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two games will now take place from August 4 to 9, following the revised dates.

These games were originally scheduled for July 29 to August 7. KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi indicated that a referees’ clinic would be conducted at Kisii School on August 1, with teams expected to arrive in Kisii on August 2.

Ngugi detailed the venues for these events: Kisii School will host football, netball, basketball 3×3, rugby 7s, table tennis, and badminton, while Cardinal Otunga High School, Mosocho, will accommodate volleyball and football.

Venue Arrangements

The opening ceremony and the inaugural football match will take place on August 4 at Gusii Stadium, which is also slated to host the finals and any game deemed high-risk.

Preliminary games are set for August 5 and 6, with the semi-finals scheduled for August 7. The finals and the closing ceremony are planned for August 8, with teams expected to leave Kisii the following day.

A delegation of KSSSA and Ministry of Education officials inspected the facilities on Wednesday and were reportedly satisfied with the conditions.

Ngugi stated that after the games, the teams would proceed to Kakamega for a 10-day camp before departing for Mbale, Uganda, for the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Championships.

Upcoming Regional Championships

Ngugi mentioned that teams would head directly from Kisii to Kakamega, where they would join other teams that qualified for the regional event during the Term One games.

This statement was made in the presence of KSSSA President Kipchumba Maiyo and Treasurer Kariuki Gikonyo.
