KUCCPS 2024: Boys Lead in University Admissions, Girls Excel in TVET Enrollments
The 2024 placement results by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) have revealed that more boys than girls have secured places in universities for degree courses.
KUCCPS released the placement results on Tuesday at the College of Insurance.
KUCCPS CEO Agnes Mercy Wahome noted that male applicants continued to dominate placement in degree programmes, sustaining a trend observed since the beginning of the central placement system.
In contrast, female students were the majority of those placed in TVET institutions from the 2020/2021 cycle to the present.
During the 2023 KCSE Examination, a total of 899,453 candidates sat the examination.

KUCCPS mentioned that KMTC placement results were released to the institutions a bit earlier than those for universities and TVETs. KMTC had its intake for new students in March.
To enable KMTC to undertake admissions for the March intake, KUCCPS released KMTC placement to the institution.
Similarly, KUCCPS has also released TVET placement data to the TVET institutions for their May admissions.
