KUCCPS Opens Application Window for 26 KMTC Programmes for April 2025 Intake.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has made public the availability of limited slots in 26 diploma and certificate programmes at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC). The agency encouraged prospective students seeking KMTC placements to explore the remaining opportunities before the application deadline.
KUCCPS indicated that all interested candidates could find the list of available KMTC campuses and their corresponding entry requirements on the KUCCPS student portal. They emphasized that applicants had 12 days to complete the process, with the application window closing on April 30, 2025.
List of Available Programmes
Among the certificate programmes still open are:
- Certificate in Community Health Assistant
- Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology
- Certificate in Medical Emergency Technician
- Certificate in Medical Engineering
- Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics
Other certificate-level courses include:
- Certificate in Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine
- Certificate in Public Health
At the diploma level, KUCCPS listed a wide range of programmes such as:
- Diploma in Community Health
- Diploma in Emergency Medical Technology
- Diploma in Health Counselling
- Diploma in Health Insurance Management
- Diploma in Health Promotion
Additional diploma courses include:
- Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology
- Diploma in Medical Engineering
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
- Diploma in Medical Social Work
- Diploma in Mortuary Science
- Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Diploma in Occupational Therapy
The remaining diploma programmes open for application are:
- Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology
- Diploma in Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine
- Diploma in Pharmacy
- Diploma in Physiotherapy
- Diploma in Public Health
- Diploma in Radiography and Imaging
- Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
KUCCPS Assures Smooth Application Process Amid Concerns
While making the announcement, KUCCPS also addressed allegations regarding a supposed system failure, clarifying that the ongoing application process for university and college placements was functioning without issues.
During a monitoring visit to Nyamache Sub-county, John Oluoch, KUCCPS Director for Placement and Career Development, assured the public that operations were proceeding as planned.
He confirmed that the placement process would continue up to April 30, 2025, with a target of placing more than 246,000 students into universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs), and other post-secondary learning centres.

He further mentioned that KUCCPS had deployed staff throughout the country to assist applicants, ensuring inclusivity so that every eligible student gets a chance.
KUCCPS also issued a reminder to qualified students to complete their applications without delay. The call followed concerns raised by the Ministry of Education, which highlighted that a significant number of students who scored Grade C+ and above had not yet submitted their applications.
