KUCCPS Opens Applications for Construction and Oil & Gas Courses.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the commencement of applications for courses in the construction and oil and gas industries. The openings are available at the Morendat Institute of Oil and Gas, located in Nairobi, as stated in a notice issued on Wednesday.
Available Courses and Requirements
A review by Teachersupdates.news has identified several courses on offer, including a Diploma in Environmental Science, a Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, and a Diploma in Petroleum Management.
These three diploma programs require applicants to have attained a mean grade of C- in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Additionally, there are programs in Welding and Fabrication, including a Diploma and a Certificate. The diploma program requires a C- in KCSE, while the certificate program requires a minimum grade of D.
KUCCPS has specified that applications for these courses will remain open until March 20.
Institutions Offering Analytical Chemistry and Petroleum Management
Research has shown that the Diploma in Analytical Chemistry is also available at various institutions, including Alupe University TVET Institute (Busia), Bushiangala Technical Training Institute (Kakamega), Emurua Dikirr Technical Training Institute (Narok), Friends College Kaimosi (Vihiga), Kabete National Polytechnic (Nairobi), and Kenya Coast Polytechnic (Mombasa).
The course is further available at Kisumu Polytechnic, Kitale National Polytechnic, Laikipia University TVET Institute (Laikipia), Meru University of Science and Technology TVET Directorate, and Meru National Polytechnic, all based in Meru County.
For those interested in a Diploma in Petroleum Management, the program can also be pursued at Baringo National Polytechnic (Baringo) and Ol’lessos Technical Training Institute (Nandi).

KUCCPS Opens Teacher Training Applications
In a separate development, KUCCPS had previously announced the opening of its placement portal for the September 2025 intake into Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).
The notice indicated that applications were being accepted for a Diploma in Primary Teacher Education and a Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education.
However, no details were provided on the number of available slots. The application portal for these programs will also close on March 20.
