This expansion aligns with KMTC’s commitment to broadening its course offerings and making healthcare training more accessible.
Application Guidelines
Interested individuals must apply through the KUCCPS Student Portal at https://students.kuccps.net/. The application deadline is November 10, 2024. Below is the list of available programs, minimum requirements, and campus locations.
Rising Demand Drives Changes
KMTC CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch shared that the decision to introduce the Clinical Medicine and Surgery program in the September intake was motivated by the increased demand, especially from applicants who leave university placements to pursue training at KMTC. He emphasized that the institution is dedicated to supporting Kenyans by providing additional access to essential health programs.
Dr. Oluoch highlighted that expanding the intake not only addresses this demand but also maximizes the College’s recently recruited training staff, ensuring that they can meet the needs of the growing student population.
Improved Flexibility for Students
Dr. Oluoch explained that limiting the program to a single annual intake in March caused inconvenience for students who needed to defer, as they would otherwise wait an entire year to resume their studies. By offering a September intake, KMTC can reduce this delay and provide greater flexibility for students.
To accommodate students who will join KMTC in November 2024, Dr. Oluoch disclosed that the College has implemented a crash program. This fast-track approach will enable the November cohort to catch up with peers who reported two months earlier, ensuring academic alignment across all student intakes.
Dr. Oluoch encouraged all qualified applicants to take advantage of these newly available slots and apply to join KMTC. This expanded intake demonstrates KMTC’s ongoing commitment to addressing the country’s healthcare training needs by providing enhanced access to essential programs and accommodating students’ diverse timelines.
