Lugulu Girls’ KCSE Results Withholding: KNEC Responds.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has debunked reports circulating on social media that Lugulu Girls’ High School’s KCSE results have been released.

These posts, which emerged on Wednesday, January 15, suggested that the national school had received its results, initially withheld after the KCSE release.

Social media posts claimed the school achieved an impressive mean grade of 10.2265, with all students meeting the university entry cut-off grade. However, KNEC dismissed these claims as false through a statement on their official social media accounts.

January 10, 2024: School Administration Reassures Parents

To address concerns, the administration assured parents and guardians via official communication that the issue was being handled. The message stated that efforts were underway to resolve the situation through the council’s appeal channels.

“The administration wishes to assure all parents that the results will be made available in due time,” it noted, emphasizing the ongoing pursuit of resolution.

January 11, 2024: Local Leader Speaks Out

Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa dismissed rumours that the results had been cancelled. He reported contacting Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba, who confirmed the withholding was for further verification.

Barasa vowed to follow up on the issue to ensure a timely resolution. He expressed confidence that once verification concludes, the results would be accessible to all 2024 candidates.

The examination body’s post is the latest in a series of updates addressing the confusion. KNEC emphasized that any official updates would come through their verified channels.
