“After careful consideration of this assessment, the Ministry of Education has made the decision to postpone the reopening of all primary and secondary schools by one week.”

Data from other relevant government organizations confirms the Ministry of Education’s reports that the adverse weather conditions are causing severe issues in several schools across various regions.

The rains have been exceptionally intense in some regions, making it dangerous to reopen without adequate safety precautions in place to protect the school communities.

Following a careful examination of this assessment, the Ministry of Education has decided to postpone the reopening of all primary and secondary schools for one week.

“The new reopening date is scheduled for Monday, May 6, 2024.”
