Ministry of Education to Hold County-Based Dialogues Starting 7th March.
The Ministry of Education is set to launch a seven-day series of county-based dialogues aimed at addressing pressing concerns within the education sector.
These discussions will engage stakeholders in evaluating the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework, assessing its progress, accomplishments, and potential areas for improvement.
Following the national launch in Machakos on 7th March 2025, the dialogues will be conducted in all counties from 9th to 15th March 2025.
The sessions will be spearheaded by teams comprising officials from the Ministry of Education, Kenya National Examinations Council, Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, and Teachers Service Commission.
The State Department for Basic Education has planned these forums to examine the quality of education and learning outcomes under the CBE system.
The dialogues aim to provide a structured platform for key stakeholders to actively participate in discussions on the trajectory of CBE and its impact on the education landscape.
Key Objectives of the Dialogues
The discussions will center on the following primary objectives:
- Informing stakeholders about the current implementation status of the CBE framework.
- Creating an avenue for public participation in validating Senior School guidelines.
- Updating stakeholders on teacher recruitment and professional development.
- Collecting feedback on the execution and effectiveness of CBE.

As a result of these discussions, the Ministry expects to achieve:
