Janet Moraa, one of the aggrieved teachers, mentioned that numerous appeals to the governor to address their plight have been ignored.
Calls for Accountability
The teachers further criticized the County Executive for Education, Emily Ongaga, for her inaction regarding their concerns. They threatened to storm her office and remove her due to her perceived indifference.
The teachers emphasized that despite their dedication to providing quality services, the government’s failure to pay them has led to severe personal consequences, including strained relationships with landlords and difficulties in providing for their families.
One of the teachers, Alfred Mokaya, highlighted the emotional toll of the situation, stating that they are now burdened with debt and subjected to undeserved ridicule from friends. The ongoing financial struggle has left them feeling disheartened and undervalued.
