The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has reaffirmed its dedication to resolving job stagnation among educators. Dr. Nicodemus Anyang, a TSC Commissioner, revealed that over 55,000 teachers have been promoted in the last two years as part of these efforts.

Dr. Anyang announced plans to promote an additional 26,000 teachers within the next three months. He encouraged those who had been unsuccessful in previous applications to remain optimistic and continue applying, explaining that budgetary constraints had limited initial promotions.

Speaking at the funeral of Beatrice Amoit Osirang’, aged 65, in Kimasat village, Amagoro location, Teso North Sub-county, Dr. Anyang urged teachers not to give up on promotions despite multiple unsuccessful attempts.

Promotion Guidelines and Stakeholder Feedback

Dr. Anyang emphasized that TSC adheres to clear guidelines and rules in its promotion processes, assuring educators there is no hidden agenda.

He highlighted that stakeholder engagements across the country had identified job stagnation as a major concern, which the Commission is actively addressing.

Aggrey Naimisi, the KNUT National Second Vice-Chairman, was present at the event, alongside Busia and Teso executive secretaries Patrick Mulamba and Geoffrey Ekasiba, as well as Teso branch union chairman Alex Omoit.

During his address, Dr. Anyang reiterated the need for teachers to stay hopeful and persistent. He acknowledged their concerns, saying the Commission is committed to implementing solutions to address their stagnation issues.
