Parliament Enforces Fairness in TSC Teacher Hiring Process

To address the long-standing issues, the National Assembly has implemented new measures that emphasize the importance of the year of graduation and academic performance, as reflected in transcripts.

These factors will now be given top priority in the teacher recruitment process. Melly expressed confidence that these changes would create a more equitable system, making it clear that all graduates are now eligible for employment, regardless of age.

Amendments to Age Restrictions

Previously, candidates over 42 years old were barred from employment, a situation that led to the exclusion of many qualified individuals.

However, the committee has successfully amended these laws, enabling candidates of all ages to apply for teaching positions.

Melly indicated that the previous laws were punitive and had caused desperation among many potential candidates who were unfairly locked out.

Melly highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance the education sector by deploying tutors to all Technical Training Institutes (TTIs) across the country.

He pointed out that these initiatives aim to strengthen the technical education sector, which is vital for national development.

The Taptengele Technical Training Institute, in particular, is now fully operational, and Melly encouraged residents to take advantage of the opportunities available by enrolling at the institution.
