Reports indicate that he was fatally stabbed in the neck during an altercation in Kibomet, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Kitale.

The suspect, Mercy Masika—also known as Nancy Faiza—is believed to have been in a relationship with the deceased.

Dr. Evans Letting, who attempted to save Kiptoo’s life, reported that he succumbed to his injuries due to severe blood loss despite medical intervention.

The doctor recounted that efforts to stabilize Kiptoo were unsuccessful as his condition deteriorated rapidly.

His mother, Gladys Kipkorir, has urged security agencies to intensify their efforts to locate the suspect, stressing the importance of justice for her son. Similarly, his uncle, Japheth Kipkorir, emphasized the need for accountability in the matter.

Trans Nzoia Deputy Police Commander Selasio Murethi confirmed the incident and assured the public that investigations are ongoing, expressing confidence in apprehending the suspect.

Meanwhile, the county’s Health Executive, Sam Ojwang, condemned the killing, calling for collective action against gender-based violence.

“We are actively searching for the suspect, and we are confident of bringing her to justice,” Murethi said.
