Russian Government Scholarship Programme for Kenyans (2025/2026): Apply.
The Ministry of Education has received notification from the Russian Embassy in Nairobi that the Russian Government will offer scholarships to Kenyan nationals for the 2025/2026 academic year.
These scholarships aim to support Kenyan students in pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies, as well as Russian language preparatory courses.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
Candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements depending on their intended level of study:
Undergraduate Applicants
- Minimum KCSE Mean Grade of B (plain).
- Age limit: 23 years.
- Strong grades in major subjects relevant to the intended specialty.
- Completion of secondary education within the past three years.
Master’s Applicants
- Age limit: 35 years.
- Hold a 2nd Class Honours (Upper Division) degree.
PhD Applicants
- Age limit: 45 years.
- Possess a relevant Master’s degree from a recognized university.
Application Process
Candidates must complete the following steps:
- Online Application: Fill out the application form at Education in Russia.
- Submission of Documents: Applicants must download, complete, and submit the Standard Scholarship Application Form available on the Ministry’s website at www.education.go.ke. The submission package should include:
- Certified copies of identity card, birth certificate, passport, and other relevant testimonials.
- Certified copies of KCSE Certificate for undergraduates, and university degree certificates and transcripts for postgraduates.

Important Notes
- Candidates who applied in June 2024 do not need to reapply; however, they should ensure their online application form is submitted at Education in Russia.
- Academic certificates from foreign institutions must be recognized by the Commission for University Education (CUE).
