Shiners Boys High School Murder Suspects to Complete KCSE Exams While in Custody.
Education Principal Secretary (PS) Belio Kipsang confirmed that four suspects tied to the murder at Shiners Boys High School will sit their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams while detained.
Speaking in Nakuru while overseeing the opening of an examination container, he said a multiagency team is actively investigating the incident.
Kipsang stated that the suspects would be permitted to complete their exams as they await court proceedings, entrusting security teams to handle the process.
The four suspects are believed to be responsible for the fatal stabbing of a fellow candidate, which took place on Saturday night. Gilgil sub-county police commander Winstone Mwakio revealed that the suspects had been previously suspended from the school.

They returned to sit for exams and found their belongings destroyed, leading them to suspect the victim as the perpetrator of the damage. Mwakio expressed concern over how the murder weapon was smuggled into the school and pointed out broader issues of indiscipline within the institution.
Suspect Identification and Police Action
Police identified Dak, a Sudanese national, as the primary suspect in the murder. Following the incident, Dak fled to Nairobi, where he was apprehended on Sunday.
Authorities also reported that his accomplices, now in custody, are expected to testify in the case, which has been transferred to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for further inquiry.
